PodPaws, Accuracy Enhancement for Bipods

I have developed a product for bipods that increase accuracy by allowing the bipod to recoil more like a bench rest rig instead of hopping after a shot and getting stuck in the roots as you try to get back on target or sink in soft soil. They are called PodPaws, will fit all Harris and similar bipods that use a foot like the Harris, install in seconds and require no modification to the bipod. Check out the pictures and you will see what I mean. I recently,6-23-07) shot a 197-6x at 1,000 yards and my shooting buddy fired a 197-10x on the same relay using PodPaws. FTR shooters and F-Open shooters that want a more portable rig as well as varmint hunters should take a serious look. They are made from 6061 aluminum. PodPaws sell for $50.00 per set with a $5.00 shipping fee per set, lower 48 US only), or see me at a match in OK, NM, TX or AR, I always have some with me.

Good Shooting,

Kyle

Kyle,

Good to see you up and going again.

Folks, I've had a set of these for a couple years now... they flat work! The added stability in soft/loose soil or gravel is impressive. Being metal they hop a bit on concrete firing lines, but that's not really the intended use anyways. IIRC they add about .33 lb, for you F/TR shooters concerned about weight.

Hi Monte, glad you are having success with your PodPaws. Next time you shoot from a concrete firing line, put a hand towel down and shoot off it, the PodPaws will glide like silk!

Kyle,

Actually I was thinking more of dipping the bottom halves in Plastisol coating or putting some non-skid on there... I don't want them to slide, I want to be able to push into the bipod and pre-load it a little. They do work very nicely though...

Couple other pics for ya...

Gotta love that they make the bipod so stable it'll stand up by itself!

I've always said "a bipod should stand on its own two legs"!!! I have some rubber booties that I sell for $10.00, will send a pic of them tomorrow.

I shot the 197-10 that Kyle mentioned in his original post. Only 9's I shot were wide. These PodPaws really help prevent flexing of the bipod springs that cause vertical stringing. They helped me hold about 4-5" vertical at @ 1000yds. I was shooting straight .284 with 162 a-max.

If I remember correctly, Kyle and I went #5 & 6 at TX State Champ,F-Open) using PodPaws. I was very happy. Got my Master Classification card the other day as a result.

Great product! :thumb::thumb:

Got some Pod Paw rubber booties in from Kyle the other day... at first blush I must say they seem to solve the main 'problem' I had w/ the Pod Paws, that being that the metal bottoms tend to slide all over the place on a hard surface such as a paved firing line or a concrete or wood bench. With the booties installed... I can lean into the 'pod to 'pre-load' it a little to stabilize it and minimize the hop a good bit. That and they don't make as much racket 'clacking' on a concrete firing line... ;)

Very nice.

I definitely want to do a write-up on these things.

Can somebody post a photo of the Pod Paws with the rubber booties attached?

Cool,

Thanks for the excellent pix.

Monte, this seems like an item that should be in the Permanent gear review section--if the pod paws are a good value.

How much are the Paws and how much do the booties cost?

Kyle:
I would like to order a set of your PodPaws and booties. How do I contact you ?
Thanks

Hey Guys, I have had a set of PodPaws for a couple of years now & I love them. The best thing to me is how easy they go on & off the bi pod without any modification to the bi pod. They don't allow the bi pod to dig into the dirt & do allow the gun to recoil like a benchrest rig especially on hard packed soil or concrete. Kyle is a great guy to do business with & you won't be disappointed in this product! Dean-o

Congratulations to Kevin Hill at the 2007 F-Class Nationals. Kevin shot a 1301-40X in the aggregate for 6th place overall in F-Open Division. Did I mention Kevin was shooting off PodPaws. Congratulations Kevin and all shooters that participated, it was a roller coaster for sure.

The Outers Shooters Ridge bipods came out after I designed PodPaw, they appear to be very similar to a Harris. The rubber foot on a Harris measures .82,typ)at the shoulder and 1.18,typ)at the widest and is about 1.14 tall. If the foot on the Shooters Ridge measures the same as the Harris PodPaws will work just fine on them. As always, if you get them and they don't perform to your satisfaction you can return them for a full refund provided they are still in like new condition. Thanks for your interest, Kyle
