PMC/Wolf/Tula Large rifle magnum primers

I have just loaded up another box of ammo with PMC primers, except after I loaded these, the box says Large Rifle Magnum, not the normal Large Rifle as I have been using. Can anyone confirm these are the same strength as the PMC/Wolf/Tula Large Rifle primers? I read in a thread that the primer is the same heat, just a thicker cup, is that right?

Wolf LRMs and LRs gave me the same velocities pretty much. Cant say about thicker cups as I never had problems with either, but not pushing pressure either.

I tested some Wolf Standard LR against some Wolf Magnum LR and the Magnum primer was 10 fps slower than the Standard primer. I figure this is normal deviation from lot to lot.
The Magnum primer cup showed less flatting than the Standard primer cup,so it is harder.

I know that in the small primers they make a standard charge product with the heavier cup from their true magnum SR offering. It's confusing as to which is which, they generally label the magnum-cupped standard as 223REM or 223M while the true magnum charged SR is 556, maybe with an M.

In the large primer line they only show two products, one tagged as magnum. Compared to other brands of popular primers, I have a hunch PMC/Wolf/Tula's LR magnum aren't anywhere as hot as other products though I've never had need or opportunity to use any myself... the standard LR's work fine for my needs.

Before you try any in a match that matters you might want to do a side-by-side test of five or ten rounds of each under the same conditions, see what kind of elevation changes show up in your groups.
