PM board technical problems

I have sold a lot of components the last few days. On one deal my PM responses WERE GOING TO ANOTHER SHOOTER that had nothing to do with the transaction. He PMed me and I tried again. Same result. The correct purchaser is getting the item he purchased but it has caused more than a little concern. Although I have always left my cell number and my email address on my recent listings, most people only PM.

I have no idea how this happened, but it did. I just thought I should post this problem to make you aware of my concerns.

Not saying this is the problem BUT, an a couple of occasions I have accidentally clicked on the reply button below the inbox message. The correct button is above the message. Only a maybe.

Oh yes, I have been there and done that. In my case, the board members have different call names, but both given names are Phillip. Everything cross-referenced. I got it handled, but it was harry for a while. What this means to me is that when you are buying and selling items on the board, insist on full names in all correspondence.

This is one of the best reasons I know of to NEVER trust board PMs
for conducting business. All contacts should be made on real
email addresses off this or any board. Board PMs are more prone
to fail than reg E-mail. LDS

Lately I've been getting PM'd that was clearly not meant for me. I ignored them but I see there is something out of kilter with the PM system.
