Hardy Custom Bullets, Inc.

I am proud to announce that I received my custom carbide 7mm bullet swaging dies from David Detsch on May 18th. While HCB has been limited to servicing meplat modifications on great bullets for great shooters and customers, the bullet making business has been on hold.

Everything is lining up in my shop to be running bullets in the very near future. However, I will not offer any for sale until the measurements and tested performance meets my high standards. I have world class shooters waiting to test the product. The bullets will be tested as made and with my meplat enhancement process. it is very exciting journey that I wanted to engage in 54 years ago. It is never too late for your passions.

I have great mentors to tech me the process. There is no question that I will have to endure the learning curve by making mistakes along the way. But I can promise you that no one will work harder at producing a superior product that will be appreciated by the elite long range shooter or the shooter that is driven to become one of the elite.

I will keep the board posted with my progress and publish a web site and add banner when I am really up and running a precision product. Additionally, I am all ears for any tips and suggestions that come my way.

Regards,
Jim Hardy

Jim,

Glad to hear this is coming together. I'm sure Thomas and Phil (if those are some of the testers) will wring the last mm of accuracy out of them. Like they need any more advantage........

Chris

The 7mm will be in the 180 - 185 class. Each bullet design has it's sweet spot, so when that combo comes together, that will be the long range projectile weight. Of course, my meplat enhancements will be available.

Thanks for your inquiry,
Jim Hardy

All plans change at first shot. There are no jackets in sight for long range bullet making in 6mm, 7mm or .30. Such is the life of the bullet maker.

This too will pass and I will be ready,
Jim Hardy

Not a shortage of jackets for the past few years. Most all bulletmakers are using Barts benchrest jackets. They are available now in all of the 6mm lengths and 30 cal in .925, 1.000 and 1.400. Get with me or Bart if youd like to order some.

On a closer reading of your post, I don't see 7mm listed :'( I will hold my breath and cross my fingers for the 7mm jackets when I get in touch.

Jim

Dusty:

There is plenty of call for the 7mm bullet. What is the bullet buzz about on this board? It is about the 195 Hybrid and the 180 Hybrid -- 7mm. The issue is that Berger owns J4 and there are no 7mm jackets available to the public. Waiting patiently. Hey, my custom designed carbide dies sure are pretty! Let me know when Bart has the 7mm. I will jump on them like white on rice.

BTW, great job by you and the team and Bart in MO. Keep up the good work.

Marching on,
Jim Hardy

Reading forums it does seem that 7's are the way to go. We started the jackets due to the monopoly and flipped the short 6 bullet market overnite a couple years ago but im sure you noticed that. We'll do the same for the rest but it takes more cash than i have to develop each one. Its coming tho- real soon. Thanks for the compliments we've been in the trench gettin ready for the next run- keep your eyes peeled over the next month or so!! Let me know if we can help you on the 6 or 30 in the meantime

Dusty:

Thanks to you and Bart for your on and off the board help for this old meplat closer. When the "Big Boys" step up to help the little bullet makers it tells me that they have been in the same place at one time, and want to make sure those that want to make precision bullets do not get shut out.

I don't have words to express how proud I am of this small but tight knit bunch of core, jacket and bullet makers who make it possible for others to continue the passionate dream to make precision bullets. I can tell you that without them reaching out, I had no answers.

I never forget good deeds, and I will not forget the education or the assistance I have received. Top shelf class acts for sure, and a fine example of bullet makers protecting their own kind. When I get things going with my bullets, I will take every opportunity to pass on the good will as well.

Thanks again to Dusty and Bart. I am proud to call you my friends.
