This is totally my own opinion by the way. I am in no way associated with HM, other than I really like it.
Just wanted to put this out there for all the home hobbyist machinists. Practical Machinist is a great site, but the audience there is probably a lot more commercial/industrial in aim. I believe the forum rules there specifically exclude the chinese machines that many probably have in their garage shops anyhow.
hobby-machinist is a great forum resource for home hobbyist types. Some very smart guys hang out there with a lot of experience. You won't get gunsmithing specific experience, but if you need to know how to dial in your 13x40 headstock, or want some really great info on scraping, or what have you, it's a great place.
