Pls help choose new Dasher Barrel

Hi,

Please assist me in choosing a new barrel for my 6mm Dasher.
Both barrels are 31" and will be finished at 28". Weight is no issue. This is my f-open rifle that will shoot 107 Sierra Matchkings.

1: Krieger 8tw 4groove Heavy Varmint.
Or
2:Bartlein 8tw 5R 1.25 straight.

I know you first needs to shoot a barrel to measure accuracy, but this decision is purely based on specifications.

I appreciate the input.

Try both but finish them as long as possible. Longer will give you a set back. Larry

The 1.250" Straight contour will have some advantage to barrel heat over the HV contour.
And like the others above, I to suggest to finish it as long as possible.

Straight, no taper. Not only takes the heat better, the weight makes it more pleasant to shoot

Thank you.

I will finish it at 30"

Finishing it at 28" was only because of reading many posts about record groups at that length.
Having it at 30" will make it a pleasure to shoot. I will be adding stock weights to fix the balance.

I just recently did a 6 Dasher on my 40X but I duplicated the contour of the original 40x profile. I did mine in a 7.75 twist.

The contour will only really effect weight. If it's a F Open gun go with the 1.250" str. as it will add weight to the gun.

No difference in how they shoot/heat wise. I just don't see it.
