Please Take a Look at This Dasher Brass

I bought about 225 pieces of Lapua 6BR brass fireformed into Dasher from a friend who’s had to give up centerfire shooting.

About a dozen had an easily discernible ring just below the bottom of the shoulder.

What caused that?

Is it usable?

Thanks for looking,

George

This is normal. The crease is the old 6BR shoulder location and will go away over time through repeated firing/resizing cycles.
You will notice that the location is identical in each case, approximately .100 thou below the new shoulder.

To mild of a load while fire forming. Crank it up a little.

This makes sense. I don't shoot a BR variant but when forming 6xc cases I will sometimes use a powder that is fast for a 6xc. H4350 is the traditional powder but cases formed with reloder 15 come out nice and crisp, especially with the bullet jammed in the lands. Plenty accurate too.
