Please post Your Fav EDC Pistol

I carry a SIG P365 and a Benchmade AFO II along with a Case slimline trapper and a good compact flashlight. I also carry at least 2 ways to light a fire, of all this stuff I use the flashlight the most and the Case next.

Here's another test from Lucky Gunner duplicating the other test. Around 700-750 fps is the magic number for 16" penitration w/ 148 WC.
Interesting. The only load listed that matches the Win 148gr Match WC load (from a 2" barrel) in all respects is Hornady 125gr XTP American Gunner. Penetration, expansion, and (calculated, not shown) recoil virtually identical.

Gun reviews often mention handgun accuracy testing performed "from a sandbag rest". I've got my portable, heavy, stable bench, and sandbags of various sorts (sand-filled shot bags, front 'U' bags, rear rabbit-ear bags, etc) But I haven't yet found a comfortable and stable way to shoot a pistol for accuracy off the bench.

How do you guys set up to do it?

I can't really believe how accurate these short barrel Sigs are.

A couple pages ago someone mentioned Rohrbaugh.

IMO the best pocket pistol going, here next to a Ruger 380...Tom

Everyday is an adjective we use to describe something that's seen or used every day.
Don't carry every day.. But I have been known to tote a Sig 365 XL..

I believe so. I also believe not many people would want to shoot one 200 times...Tom
Fair enough, but that rather misses the point, doesn't it? The #1 feature of any defense pistol is reliability. The same article I cited also said the R9 failed to fire at all one common brand of ammo, and had frequent failures to feed another popular brand. Taken all together, doesn't produce a warm and fuzzy feeling if you're about to stake your life on it.

Just curious: How many cycles exactly are you into your R9 recoil spring's life expectancy of 200?

I know of several that are completely reliable, including mine.

Maybe he had a limp wrist or a dud...Tom

I carried either a G26 or G19 for 12-15 years. I bought about every new SFP that came down the pike in that time. I always went back to Glock. For the last couple years I’ve been carrying a P365XL. I like it a lot.

I have carried a Ruger P95 DC off and on for more than 20 years, but looked around for one smaller and a bit lighter. Being the way things are, I decided on a Kimber R7 Mako after shooting a friend's, but without the red sight as I prefer their standard sight. I do like the grip finish and the trigger.

If you can still get one for $249 or less the original M&P Shield 9mm is fantastic value if you can live with 7-8 round capacity. 2000+ rounds down range and it is works like new.

It is light weight even loaded, is thin and flat, and you do not need to have hands like a lumber jack to comfortably grip it and get a good purchase on it.

I got one for myself again Cabela's was giving them away before Covid-19. I liked it so much as a bare bones practical CCW handgun I got one for my oldest son. It was his first carry gun. I think I transfered it on his 19th birthday. I got him his first rifle so he did not need to borrow mine when he was 12 his first Remington 700PSS at 14 and his first hand gun and CCW gun one in the same.

He is 24 and has far more expensive guns. That said he Had a Sig P320 decked out and sold it less than a year after he got it. That said I have tried to buy the S&W M&P Shield 9 I got him back and he holds onto it. His has more than 2000 rounds through it.

He added Talon Grip Tape and he had mag extensions. Other than clean it and lube it he has not had to do anything to it parts wise. It has seen a lot of training time and carry time and looks it.

Mine does not have anywhere near the training time.

My son is deployed in the US Army and he has always trained to fight even on his own time and dime.

I can also vouch for the Ruger 556 durable and accurate!

Carry 3 main ones that I rotate through depending on how I'm dressed and what I'm doing. Ruger EC9S, S&W 637 Airweight with the exposed hammer, and a Glock 43X.

Also depending on what I'm wearing and what I'm doing as Chappy says. Springfield XDS 45, Glock 43 and /or Bersa 380. Calf holster for 380.
