I am not seeing how a non recipricating charging handle could cause this issue…? This is likely gas, mag or spring/buffer IMO. I had to use a heavy buffer in mine for over gas but in hindsight I probably should have put in an adjustable gas block. I will be ordering one ty.

Good point. First try some factory loads.
I think he said he was going to.
But, even with just handloads, I'd want the vendor to tell me what to do before I start modifying anything.
If it really has an issue, I'd want to make sure the vendor is in the loop on any changes.

Does anyone ever blast solvent and compressed air up the gas tube to clear a filthy gas block or in this case, to ensure alignment?

One other thing that can cause bolt hold open fail on AR last shot is a poorly fitted (as in too tight) bolt release mechanism. Ensure yours moves quite freely with nag removed and bolt held back.

Oh, one step I forgot to add, if you have a modern smart phone, film the action cycling in slow motion. You would be amazed how much you can see going on that way. Also, try a different magazine. Sometimes the spring might not be enough to push the bolt stop up fast enough after last round.

A lot of things have been mentioned in this thread and with very good intent. I'd like to really empathize this recommendation from Fast14riot^^^ I should have said it in my statement but honestly over-looked rule number one of semi auto diagnosis. Always try a different mag first!! Not all mags are created equal!!! Especially when it comes to bolt hold open and feeding issues. And if it doesn't help out in the end, hey- you have an extra mag ; ) no harm in that !!
