ccrider, have you bothered to read the Dem platform? If you have, then I guess you just don't believe them? Why not?
Read it. Nothing new there. Totally absurd. Not worried about it. No more than a long played pipe dream.

U know they keep talking about this progressive movement, progress would be if the younger generation would listen to those that made countless sacrifices for them to have a future !
Listen and for many, loose the sense of entitlement. Of course, our politicians are not strong a good example for them.

We have had several democratic presidents and congresses during my lifetime. I do not recall anyone coming for my guns; or changing the constitution. Sheople repeating the meaningless rhetoric. We should be concerned about both parties committing to work with each other for the betterment of our country.

You obviously haven't noticed that the Democratic party of many years past is not the same party. It's out in front of everyone's face to see what their agendas are. Very Obvious!

You are now shifting from national to local politics. I could ask why didn’t the Republicans fix what happened?

Because democrats are great at pushing their policies forward, and republicans are generally awful at it. That, and the supreme court in most cases refuses to hear firearm related cases.

I agree that the rhetoric is further to the left. The republican rhetoric is further to the right. Reminds me of the WWE. As a result, our country is more divided than it has been since the civil war: and for no good reason.

Maybe in California or Massachusetts; not in Alabama.

Thanks to Obama, and wait for it.......... Biden!

Anyone who thinks that the rhetoric is as usual, and one side is as bad as the other, must be living under a rock. There is a very good reason that the country is as divided as it is -- most of us don't want to live in shambles.

I don't believe or agree with everything that Trump or any Republican says, but I don't agree with ANYTHING that the left promises or desires.

Anyone who watched the Democrat National Convention, with their favorite twenty five candidates trying to "out left" each other, should take these lunatics seriously. jd

Nope. The Dems picked this style up from Trump. If he could have just been quiet and ran the country, he would not be sweating bullets now and would easily have been re-elected. The more he engaged, the more he lost.
His rhetoric is so bad that many republicans will not vote for him and the republicans may loose the senate. Horrible politics. And yes, if the dems win, we will see a run on our 2nd Amendment rights, though it will not be successful. All because of this crazy rhetoric from twitter to all forms of social media and at every opportunity.

Wrong. Nobody will side with him because he is considered an outsider and not a career politician. They can't have their "club" broken into. Then even us common folks and deplorables could get elected. We can't have that! Even when he does what we elected him to do and the right thing to do, the politicians say "Nope we ain't doin that"!

President Obama is the reason for the more division, that you refer to.
What is this, “plausible deniability”and shift the blame. All of those republican resignations under Trump was for a reason. On the eve of election, he is arguing with his top healthcare advisor over a topic that may cost him the election. I will say that at least he is consistent.

Sounds like the naivete of a college student...and you are obviously old enough to know better.

Times change. My grandfather was a diehard Democrat. If he was alive today he wouldn't recognize them. Not that they are different at the core, but that they have basically "come out of the closet." Now few "Democrats" exist in the party....it has been over-run by liberals. Liberals are under-educated, unthinking, unreasoning, loathsome people at heart.

Ask a liberal if he supports "Ask not what your Country can do for you...." ha! That is all a liberal asks for. That is the difference of time and your reference to previous congresses.

People live in a fools dream if they think agendas will ever be put aside for the "betterment of our country" or the common good of its people.

About all you are left with now is to pick your poison.

As to the "crazy rhetoric" of Trump on Twitter, I must ask, just who would counter the wild rhetoric coming from people that hate him? Which media organizations would actually publish the truth about his agenda and the great things he and his administration have done on behalf of the American electorate?
I get that some do not like his style but it seems there is no other way to get a positive word out and with Thousands attending Trump rallies around the nation one would have to think something must be working well for him.
This election cycle is the most important in our history for the constitution and the vision our founding fathers had for the country. Looking at the democrat agenda is like reading a sordid manifesto. Poor joe Biden is having a terrible time on many levels. As usual we are left to decide on what we are able to live with for the next four years. Those years will define our country moving forward.
Sadly the democrat party is not the party of JFK. It has devolved into quite a different collection of misfits that are quite vocal about their intentions for the constitution and our rights as citizens. Never before have lines of contrast been drawn so clearly for the electorate.
