Plated Reminton 700

Did Remington ever sell a plated Remington 700 BDL to look like stainless

I have seen some nickel plated like a parade rifle but i doubt remington did it

A SS Remington can be polished to look like bright Nickel. LDS

I have had both a Remington 700 and a Winchester 70 hard chrome plated. They look similar to stainless only a little whiter. If an action has had extra holes drilled in it like a lot of the old M70s, hard chrome plating will make the repair disappear. It is about impossible to blue a repair and not have it be visible.

Actually no, they were made for them by Smith & Wesson.

There were some mountain rifles made in 93', and possibly 94' as well that have a odd type of stainless finish. The finish is rough, possibly rougher than the ss sps finish. Those guns were in the ADL configuration with a different more fibrous (stiffer) syn stock. The bolts were also not jeweled.

Mine fits the last post the finish is really rough but it's with a metal magazine and trigger guard and has a pencil thin barrel thinner than any I've ever seen My friend bought it but so far no funds

I have a Rem 700 short action that was nickel plated by the pistolsmith Bill Davis out of Sacramento a long time ago. I remember Dan D. being impressed when it got back to him.
