Plastic Jag - Broke Off in Rod Threads

I was cleaning my .30-06 last night, and grabbed a Tipton rod and plastic jag that I've used for quite awhile. Well, that tight fitting patch put a bend in the cleaning rod as I started pushing it into the bore guide, and the jag snapped off at the base of the brass tip on the rod. I've tried drilling it out, but I think I buggered up the threads in doing so. Does anyone know of a way to replace the brass tip on the end of my Tipton cleaning rod? It's 0.20" in diameter, not sure on length, haven't measured.

*Note - yes, I probably should have been using a larger diameter cleaning rod. I've used this for years and it's done the job just fine until now.

Could you take a small flat blade screw driver and heat with a torch and push it in the jag. Maybe it will turn out.
If worse comes to worse maybe you can drill out the threads and find another jig adapter and solder it in. Not sure what's available to make it work though.

It might be held on by the same stuff they use to attach golf club heads on the shafts. Heat will probably take it off.

You probably could heat up a 1/2" staple and push it in then back it out but might be difficult if the threads are damaged.

dang, wish I would have thought about this before trying to drill it out. That probably would have worked! I've got an email in to Tipton to see if they'd sell me a new brass tip.
