Place to buy reloading gear other than sinclairs

Hi. I'm looking for a online store to buy some reloading gear to add to my collection. I was going to order the gear from sinclairs but they expect me to pay for the order and then get a postage quote and pay for that after the order is packed. There's no way I'm paying for the order before I get a postage quote because If i do that they can charge anything they want and I have to pay it. I have emailed them for a postage quote and they don't reply. what I am after is as follows:

Wilson Stainless Seater, 7mm WSM

Wilson Stainless Neck Die, 7mm WSM

Pilot Stop/7 mm

Sartorius Scale 220V

Redding Universal Flash Hole Deburring Tool

Sinclair 8000 Series Handle

Arbor Press Base

Primer Pocket Uniformers, Large Rifle

Forster Headspace Go Gauges/223 Rem

Insize Digital Thickness Gage

Ken Farrell 30mm Med Matte Ring

Im in Australia so postage is an issue

You get to pick how you want it sent, and if you don't like the shipping quote just don't complete the order....

Plus if you look at the news page there may even be a code to cover ground shipping, but I'm not sure if it's them or not--worth a search.....

Thats not really an option to not complete the order when you pay for the items before you get the shipping cost

If you emailed them yesterday (Monday here), they were probably not working. It was the Labor Day holiday.

Muffo,
The shipping charges are vey reasonable considering the weight of the items your buying and its traveling 10000km by air. Looking at your list id say it would be somewhere between $75 and $150 postage. I personaly would not get a precisison balance from overseas. The price is probably half of what you will pay for it here but it will get thrown around by ythe postal handlers. But then ring around some gun shops here in Oz and add it all up, even if you payed $150 postage you will still save over $200

Try Buds gun shop. They advertise shipping to several foreign countries. They may not have everthing but his prices arent too bad.

I know it means calling in the middle of your night but I would bet that a phone conversation with a customer service rep at Sinclair would solve your issue.

I'd create an online "account", put all the items you want in the "shopping cart" and then call them.
This way they'll have a list of the items and which hopefully includes the weight.
I'm thinking that it is the weight that is the unknown and this is why they want you to complete an order first.

As JRS said, I would not fear Sinclair overcharging you on the shipping. They are known for excellent customer service.

Bruno's, Graf and Sons' Third Generation, Natchez, Midsouth, Midway, Hayden's Hoen's Hart's.............I buy a lot of stuff from Sinclair and they have never ever even kinda sorta displayed a hint of a thought about a glimmer of a tiny bit of dishonesty in shipping rates....

I just got a large shipment from Sinclair and I paid $35 for shipping to Iceland.
The order was about $400 and weight about 5 pounds.

They have never charged me first for order and then for shipping, they charge everything when order is ready to ship, they might get authorisation from your credit card provider when you complete your order just to see if you can pay, but the final charge will only be when order is ready to ship and shipping expences is known.

I actually got a refund from Sinclair once due to overcharged shipment, they estimated $39 and charged me that amount, the day after the shipment was recieved bu UPS I got a refund for $16 from Sinclair .

So they are more than fair when it comes to shipping.

Hi Muffo,hi all

Well mate,I've gone through your whole thread and can't understand what your problem is;I'm your next door neighbour so to speak(New Caledonia is 2hrs flight away from Oz)and never had a semblance of any disquieting issue with everything I ordered from them;I decided that because of their 1st class service and span of their equipment list, they'd be my first and only supplier for nearly everything I order except scopes and Lee reloading tools(FS reloading is where I go for that),whichever issue I ever had(very few)they solved and fixed, always polite and helpful, and the prices are good,so mate no worries, you won't get burnt if you order from them, believe me,they're more than safe. They're too big, with too bright a reputation to risk it on a few dollars swindle...

Quote from Muffo: "Thats not really an option to not complete the order when you pay for the items before you get the shipping cost"

Muffo, that's the point you missed, you don't complete the order...you just select the items, review them, then based on your address, you select shipping. All of this is done before you pay.

If it's different for outside CONUS, then I'm sure customer service will help, they helped me find a trigger that had been out of production for many years....

I went through the hole check out up to the point of paying. It stated that shiping would be calculated and charged after the order was packed. I just ordered my stuff through gunstop reloading. I emailed for a postage quote and had a reply with an estimate within an hour

There is no point of paying when going through sinclair orders, they only get authorization for the amount to see if your card is valid, they don't charge until shipment is ready.

Sinclair is the LAST company I would suspect of "just charging what they want for shipping". They've got far too much invested in their "Brand" to do anything that stupid and just for a couple of dollars extra.

I've ordered many, many times from Sinclair over the past 20 years and I have never found their service or trustworthiness to be lacking. Don

If your really worried about getting ripped off, just buy your gear from Australia and you will soon see who is ripping you off.
