Pistol lubing

Got finished prepping about 500 223s, should I prep my 9mm and 45acp the same way 99%alcohol and lanolin ?never did it before never any problems but what the heck got a bit more prep already made.

Not required… but the process is a lot smoother with lubed cases… try one then decide
I've never had an issue with pistol brass and carbide dies. They glide in and out of my dies without any problems.

Why in the world would I want to add another step to simply size pistol brass and then have to clean the cases post sizing? Way too much effort for the amount that I load.

Doesn't make any sense to me, but to each their own.

While lube is not required if using carbide dies and as other have said using lube GREATLY enhances the smoothness of the operation. I use One Shot, load several handfuls in a zip lock bag give them a shot of lube and mix theme up and roll around on a flat surface. Open dump out and let dry for a few minutes and good to go. I don't wipe or clean the lube off and I load for USPSA and have done 9, 40, 45, 38 super this way for over 15 years with no problems.

I hit mine with a little Hornady wax in the tin, probably not necessary but I’m just doing 50 in a session.

My carbide handgun ammo dies do not need lube on the cases. However I will on one about every 50 or so, put a dab of One Shot on a cartridge/brass, just to put a slight coating on a case and inside of the die. As some said it does allow a little easier sliding of the case into the die.

Hornady One Shot on pistol brass will change your life.

So much easier to load. Easier on my press and easier on my shoulder.

You dont have to tumble it off, but I do. 10-15 minutes in corn cob and all is well.
I have 9mm 45 acp on my bench,so I took my lanolin mixture spayed both containers about 1000 peices of brass in each,I have the mixture made some if it helps a little bit 1000 of each prepped 223 45 acp. And 9mm

I consider myself an advanced newbie and this form greatly helped get me there. I dab a little lube on my pistol brass and I do use carbide pistol dies. I rely on the feel of the press handle through out the process.
