Pistol Caliber Carbine

I have been thinking about a PCC. Those of you that own one or have owned one what are you shooting and what is the good and the bad.
Thanks Bill

9mm PCCs recoil much more than I anticipated due to their action. Double-stack carbine magazines are better than pistol magazines. Its easy to see pressure from reloads that I wouldn't have expected. Velocity isn't as amazing as I'd anticipated.

Currently, I have a CZ. Were I to do it again, I'd go JP or Sig. I'd also love to have an MP5, but that is more nostalgia.

AR 9 I wanted a 45 caliber AR but decided it was unrealistic, the cheap ones don't run and the ones that run are way too expensive.

Interesting timing on this for me ... today I was polking around investigating AR9s and then took a look to see that AR45s are offered.

Other than the obvious plinking value of an AR9, are there practical advantages over 556?

For me this is a timely post and appreciate the OP for bringing this up. In the past couple of years I've daydreamed about something like a CZ Scorpion but honestly can't see what it would accomplish - other than to be extra cool. I'm always hoping to learn and understand more but I'm thinking with 9 and 45 and 556 and 6.8 and 12 I think that should have it covered. But appreciate one day I'll wake up and realize the shortsightedness of my limited thinking

My friend thought the same.
Till he shot my M1 Carbine.
His response was.
"I never knew i needed one of these till now!!"

Teamed up with an AMT Hardballer...

The only pistol caliber carbine I own is an old (add) Ruger in 44 Magnum. It’s a fun little gun. It carries like a 10/22. Not much capacity, tho. I bought it back when they were cheap. Now, they’re thru the roof.

Rossi makes a number of lever PCC's. I have them in .357/38sp, 44mag/44sp, and 45Colt. I have shot them extensively and really enjoy them all. Quality wise the best of the bunch is my most recent purchase the .357. Rossi quality seems to have been pretty lax several years ago, but has been much better in the last couple of years.

Pistol Caliber Carbines are the equivalent of when you were a kid, plinking with a 22lr but now you're an adult ; ) HA HA They don't fill any sort of hunting role, unless you consider the survival aspect of having a rifle and sidearm with the same ammo. Which is nice, in my opinion. You won't be tremendously impressed with their ballistics or overwhelmed with their shear amount of power. But, they do leave you with a smile on your face and at my age, that's enough for me !! :) I sure wish my home range (St.Thomas) was setup like some others, that have steel PCC targets such as this range in Palmyra!
