Has anyone ever heard of welding a lug in the front of the action of an Winchester model 88, to allow bedding the action, and floating the bbl? I am willing to go ahead, but the back of the action rests in recoil lug, and doesn't have a normal floor plate screw. I have a vision of a "scout" lever action, short bbl, probably .308. Thanks
