Pillar Bedding a Glue In

I have a 40XB that I glued in 24 years ago. Today I noticed that the glue gave up the ghost but action came out cleanly. In fact the it looks like a perfect bedding job. I plan to add a recoil lug and do not want to re-glue the action. I had screws in when I glued the action in and the holes are still intact and usable. My question is if the action fits perfectly in the bedding can I just screw it down without adding pillars or would pillars make enough of a differeence in accuracy to add. This is a single shot action in a Mc Millian stock.

Pillars only contribute to accuracy by being stable and letting you torque the action down properly against a solid point instead of squishing the stock and letting torque change with the expansion and contraction of the stock which you dont have with that mcmillan. That being said i do it both ways and wouldnt try to sway a customer either way on your setup. If you have the means to properly install pillars then by all means itll make you feel better.
