Pig + Lipstick

I guess the old saw...You get what you pay for - is an old saying because it is true.... ;D

Nice project for sure...!

Can't imagine the action slots not lining up with the extractors. I reworked a 580 trigger to just less than 1 lb, by drilling the trigger pivot pin about 1/4" higher, and lined up with the sear surface vertically. Used a 1/8" carbide drill, real slow feed, right through the whole assembly, while the trigger was wedged into sear contact, so the geometry stays the same. Cut a turn off the spring, added a overtravel screw. Came out very nice, passes the butt bump test. My second action screw is in the front of the trigger guard, and is a 1/4-28, but your space is tighter, I guess. Epoxy bedding to float the barrel is a plus, too. Silver solder? Soft solder, like Brownells +44 will do the job for .22.RF.

it is now a "Barreled action". Stock work this evening to route the new recoil lug slot, then bed it.
should have it shooting targets in a few days.

the extractors...still a pita. lol. key cutter helped a lot, but I still ended up with an amatuers job on them.

Almost there...

stock is routed for the recoil lug.

she's a nice drop in.
thanks to the long mill bit I got at the shilen swap meet :)

it is now in the bedding-drying stage
I did clean up the work bench some before starting the bedding... hehe

She shoots good :)

and also, I have some very good excuses as to why she did not shoot better today. ;D

target pics tonight. ;) gotta find my paperpunch. :D

6 or 7 rounds of Lapua Midas +

I think I can shoot it a bit better.

Thanks for encouragment :)

I got the 2nd action screw D&T last night - correctly this time. I made a grave error in the first attempt...wont go into it, let me just say it was embarrasing, and so this was shot with just the one factory screw.

going to try it again soon.

The indoor place I shoot at....well, dont you hate when you have an indoor place, but the target height(high) and the bench height (low) are just messed up. its a real pain to make anything stable work. Add that to the scope...an old Tasco 8-32 with a target dot retice that I cannot get the eyepeice to focus the reticle...sometimes it looks like a target-dot+shadow-dot
