Pierce action build?

I am thinking about build a 308 F/TR off a Pierce Single shot SA or LA. I was wondering if anyone here knew what the weight was of a Pierce action? The one I am talking about is the 700 footprint one. Also anyone know what a trigger would weight approximately ?

Thanks

I have a Pierce Titanium receiver coming next week. It will have the Ti recoil lug and ultra light bolt. I will weigh it next week if you like.

Thanks for the offer Mr Lambert but its not necesarry aas I am more concerned with the weight of his Single shot SA non titanium action .

Thanks

Seems like the mfg. should be able to tell you: http://www.pierceengineeringltd.com/

Yes, I would Butch. If the OP is looking to shave fractions for making weight in whatever competition, then I suppose the exact weight might be important. But unless he really can't find the details, I'm reluctant to disassemble my Pierce tube gun to put it on the scale. ;D

Also, mine has an aluminum bolt knob, which is probably marginally lighter than the factory Rem 700 unit.

Ideally, the OP would contact Pierce on Monday, get the info, and then persuade them to publish such details on their website. :D

Thanks guys. I will contact them first of the week. I am just trying to make sure that the components I am looking at for this build will make weight for F/TR . Also do you think their action will be a good base for an F/TR rig?

I would not necessarily say this on the canadian site you frequent but

1. buy a BAT or buy a Barnard S or a Borden, not a pierce, Kelbly f-class

Pierce is nicely manufactured but gunsmiths in Canada are used to working on the others mentioned (and yes I have shot a pierce at the super shoot, a friends so I know they work just not my first choice for FTR

High quality speaks for itself, and methinks that there are more than a few Canuck 'smiths who'd be stoked to work with a Pierce, if they haven't before. Regardless, all of the actions mentioned are potential winners, combined with the right barrel, loads, stock, scope and most of all -- the biggest variable -- the SHOOTER.

Don't overthink this equipment stuff. There is no BEST. There's plenty of "good enough". Get something good enough, and then get to the range and get busy. That's what's gonna make the difference between showing up at a match vs. having a legit shot at the podium after the match.
