Picked up this little jewel today

I have a 4" that I went through the Academy with back in the day... crazy to think that I've been around long enough that I actually carried one of these ,with speed loaders, on the beat before everyone went to semi auto. It was only about a year then we went to S&W semi auto's.

I have a 19-2. The only thing I don't like is how short the ejector rod is. They could have made them long enough with a change in the housing on the bottom of the barrel.

HCPD wouldn't allow 357 magnums back in the mid '70's. They said they were too powerful. They only allowed model 10 and model 15 S&W's. Someone may have had a Colt but I can't remember for certain. The force only had 2 shotguns in the county at that time too.

I have a 66-2 in 3". Best carry gun I have. Has all the features your new addition has, and I added a Hogue round bottom grip. Enjoy . Jeff

Today 3/31/26 I went to the range to zero it for myself. Here is how it shoots at 20 yards. 6 inch bull.

Love K frames. I shot a Model 14 in ISSF Centrefire for ages, before drinking the Cool-Aid and switching to an auto. Scores didn't increase...

I started off with a Model 15 4" in the AF. I carried a 686 4" and a 681 4" with some PPC mixed in with custom Model 10's. That was late 80's and early 90's.

I never did get a Model 19 or 66.

Mid 80's I lusted over Lew Horton 3" 686, 629, 624 etc. I did end up with the 624 (1987ish) and back then it cost me a few weeks pay. Still have it but can't find the box because I have a wife. Heck, I kept all the boxes for all the revolvers and pistols, but they are all with the 624 box.
