Picatinny Rail Recommendations?

My 3 bench rest rifles I assembled all on Savage actions. The EGW came with the one necessary short screw. If they make 40° that’s what I have. If not they are 30°
I want all the ‘UP’ I can get. Don’t need any ‘down’.

What Bill K said the worst I've ever used worked just fine. I've been trying to get one to fail with no luck. Look up Hiram AR scope mount on amazon. I bought one to get laughs at the range, it works just fine so I got another one.

Murphy Precision Steel or Titanium. Best quality available. Murphy is fast and can conceivably make/machine any rail design for numerous actions. Not many outfits like this. Murphy is first choice. Price is not as high as it should be for the quality.

Ken Farrell makes a good rail but be advised, unless something has changed his rails are higher up off the action so lower than normal rings may be necessary if scope height matters to you.

For non-custom you can usually find either Badger Steel or Nightforce Steel and these are fine. I do not recommend any pic rail made of aluminum and don’t care if it’s aircraft grade or space shuttle grade. My opinion and preference is steel for any pic rail going on top of one of my actions.

Even better is find which custom action you like which has an integrated 20 or 30 moa (or even flat if you want) pic rail built into and part of the one piece action body. The industry standard is moving towards all integral actions which includes integral rail and lug, which is a step in the right direction IMO. YMMV
