Picatinny Rail for Shotgun

Folks,
I'm getting into night hunting for coyotes. To hunt at night in NJ you have to use a shotgun.
I've got an old Remington model 10 -12 gauge 2 3/4" pump gun and a JC Higgins 12-gauge 2 3/4" bolt gun with a poly choke.
Both "well used" if you get my drift. I've ordered a picatinny rail with no holes or anything so it can be adapted to either shotgun. Plan is to mount my Pulsar C50 scope on one of the shotguns . With the rail I can swap it to my T/C Contender or an AR platform rifle to hunt in Pennsylvania, where rifles can be used day and night.
If anyone has done anything like this I'd appreciate your help. I need it!! All this night stuff is new to me, I'm an old guy. Came home from the war in 1970, yes that old, but still looking to get a coyote or 2.

I have a M12 Winchester. I just epoxied a short pc of rail to the receiver for a reflex site. So far so good after a couple hundred shots.

If the receiver doesn't have tapped holes, it is a trivial job for a decent gunsmith to add them and then epoxy bed and mount a rail for you.

Several manufacturers make saddle mounts for shot guns. I have one on my 12 ga Nova and my 20 ga 870 for turkeys and deer. They are available from Amazon, eBay, etc. Here's a pic of my 870:

Can't use the old JC Higgins as the shell ejects up and there's no way it would eject with a scope.
So, I need to try to make the 1910 pump gun work.

Or, leave the old guns as is, and buy a Remington 870 or Mossberg pump and put the rail on them. You don’t see the older guns anymore. The Remington can be bought with a cantilever barrel and pretty sure the Mossberg can too.
