I now put the battery in my pocket in cold temps and pop it in just before shooting. So far, so good. Only took me 25 years to figure that out...I hear that Canon corrected that in the R5

Thanks. I was using a 150-600mm zoom lens. With my crop sensor camera it made it a 225-900mm equivalent.

Was down in Georgia a few years ago quail hunting in the long leaf pines, plantation style. Riding in a mule drawn wagon, with horses and dogs off to each side. What a hoot....Took this pic off the dock one night after supper. Color isn't as good here.
