peterson brass

thoughts on this as compared to lapua.want to get a 7mm prc in s few months.
I like Peterson, I like the feel of its neck tension being smoother
I like Lapua too but much of the Lapua Brass I have used in 260 Rem or above
has a LOT of neck tension
I would say Lapua is tougher, more Springy
---
I have not had issue with Peterson yet but have read some people have had enlarged primer pockets after 3 reloadings
But I also suspect such people are pushing the Higher Velocity nodes to do this
so if you're pushing high velocity Lapua may be the better way to go
but the Peterson stuff is very uniform

Its all I shoot in my F/open guns. I have some brass being shot through its 3rd barrel now, about 18 firings. Very tough stuff, tight primer pockets. I was losing primer pockets in Lapua in about 5 firings in 260AI, 2 of those are fire forming. Of course Lapua doesn't make SRP 260 brass and Peterson does.

For longevity, Lapua is hard to beat. The concentricity of there brass is .001 on 90% of them. Consistent Weight and water capacity, if you're into that, is not what it was 35 years ago. And they're not cheap. Still I think that's your best bet.
Peterson's brass weight and capacity was all over the place. Concentricity was greater than .003 on many. I wrote them an email. They wrote back saying nothing was wrong with my findings. Year and a half later and I still haven't used them. They do however come in a nicely packaged plastic box.

I rebarreled a LRM to a PRC. I have only tried Peterson brass so far. It's been great. I use Lapua when I can in other cartridges, But the Peterson brass has been great so far.

I used petersons 6.5 creed. SRP. reloading brass ,first time using it
I like it.
It is not Lapua brass.
Lapua is made for a different application

When i inspected the brass out of the box
It made me think
Lake City construction, with lapua quality

It seems built to run in match grade semi auto rifles.
As those guns will destroy Lapua.

Im only on my 3rd reload with this brass so its hard to tell. I dont feel the need to anneal it yet
I also feel its very thick and for that reason you give up a little case capacity
My accuracy has been very pleasing.

If you are seeking case capacity and speed
Think lapua
If your seeking strength, longevity, work horse think Petersons

That is what my experience told me.

All my smallest 1000yd BR groups were shot with 6.5x47 Peterson brass. I have 13 reloads on them and still going. Their 6BR seems good too but I only have 3 reloads on it.

Love my 6 Dasher peterson brass.

I AMP anneak, and I'm on my third load and neck tension is good so far

On the concentricity issue, once I load a bullet , i'm getting 0.0005.

Admittedly , i've never played with lapua or alpha.
