Pet 7-08 loads for....

My sillouette round is 139 grain Hornady Interbonds with 42.5-grains 4064. It's also an awesome round for deer/antelope on down to coyote/p-dogs. 120 grain Nosler ballistic tips are good too with 43 grains 4064.

Note - these are max loads according to most data sources.

I use 140gr. Nos BT, Sierra 140 Game Kings, or Horn 139 Either SST's or 139 BT lead tip bullets with 44.x gr. of Varget. Its killed everything I have ever pointed it at and pulled the trigger w/ 1 shot every time.

My favorite LR load is 140Gr. Nosler Bt's or 140 Gr. Sierra Spbt's in front of 43.0Gr's of IMR-4064. Rem cases and Fed.210 primers. Have also used Rem 9 1/2 primers and the worked equally well.

There is so much variety in the throating of 7/08 rifles that I don`t want to give exact powder weights. Have no idea how some of the reloading manuals get their top velocities with this cartridge. Their rifles must have more freebore than mine.

Great moose load is 150 Nosler partition, compressed load of RL19, chronos at 2780 fps.

Most accurate load in my rifle is Barnes 120 TTSX, W760, 3000 fps. Prints one inch 3 shot groups at 200 metres.

This out of a lowly Stevens 200. Great hunting rifle. Light, don`t have to worry about dropping it in the mud.

compressed load of RL-19 under Combined Technologys 140 grain. Sub MOA and 2850 fps from a Sako A7. Varget has perfromed accurately but was a little slower.

This load works well in 4 different Remingtons that are in the family.....40.0gr./ Reloder 15 /140 gr. Nosler ballistic tip.
Back when the 7/08 first came out I used John Wooters (Shooting Times contributor) pet load of 47.0/WW 760 and got equal results.

I have a rem M7 with the 18.5 barrel, I found that Norma 204 with 139 hornady 210 primer shot very good, fast, and accurate.

Federal Brass, Federal 210M, 120gr. Nosler B-Tip, and Varget powder.
I can't get anywhere near a max load with this rifle !!!

Bang....Flop ;D

One of the most accurate load I have found is 45.0gr of Winchester #748 with a Sierra 140gr game king boat tail. 3/8" 5 shot group. This load is on the top end and works fine in my rifle you may want to start 2gr less and work up to see if there is too much pressure in your rifle.

My deer load is 44.6 gr of Varget behind a 139gr SST and a CCI LR primer. It is hot so back off a grain and work up. It shoots 3/8" groups out of my Savage and my wifes Ruger.

You must be lookin' in my load book! 7 BG animals this year, and only one took a step...

42g varget 150g ballistic tips great deer load not very fast 2700fps but ballistic tips expand at low velocity very well. 210m primer and norma brass. shoots great .5 moa. I have shot antelope out to 520yds with this combo.

120 gr BT 45.x Gr varget for 2600 in my 15" encore. had a pass through at 296 last year. very accurate if I do my part its 3/4" at 100
