People Use a Proper Password!! Buyers Don't EVER Use F&F!!!!!

A Forum account was hacked a week ago with a stolen password.

The password was simply the member's six-letter account name plus two sequential digits.

THAT IS REALLY BAD

The user had not changed his password in over 12 years, and the same simple password was used on other Forums.
The user had stored the password in a phone archive and received a warning that there was a data breach.

After the password was stolen, the scammer posted a thread to sell a Garmin using PayPal F&F.
It appears that someone attempted to buy the Garmin using PayPal F&F.



People will you listen my Warnings? How may times must I tell users...


NEVER EVER Use PayPal or Venmo F&F or Zelle to buy ANYTHING!

It is NOT SAFE. Scammers Use this because there is NO BUYER PROTECTION!!!

This is NOT just a Forum Policy folks. F&F (Friends and Family) IS Forbidden to use for ANY sale of ANY product under PayPal's Rules. Follow the rules and you won't get burned.

To protect potential buyers, post in your Advert that you will NEVER send an unsolicited text to them.

The scammers are finding the phone number of people who posted that they wanted to buy an item.

In most cases the members posted their phone numbers online in the Forum. A search of past posts can find those numbers in a few seconds.

Do NOT post your phone number in public threads!!
