People Moving out of New York

masterblaster1 said:
Grew up in NJ, left at 17 to the Army, will not move to the NE or West coast ever again in my life, I think you people fleeing the burning ship that you built up there should stay and fix the mess you and your people created. If you insist on running away from the problem, please dont create new ones wherever you land.

Well, why don't you go back to New Jersey and fix the problem instead of running away?

When there are 40% conservatives and 60% liberals, you have no choice but to leave. When I left NY it was because the local police thought I owned too many guns and were harassing me about it - now, in CT, you need a permit from the state police to buy a box of 22 rimfires, and the gov promises more gun control this term.

So what is there to fight with - there are so few republicans and conservatives in this God damned state, that we are an endangered species...

CS, when I left I could still walk through my neighborhood with my 22 to the woods and shoot varmints.b dont blame that sht on me. Just dont do the same thing wherever you land, running out of places to flee to.

Sometimes "the ship" was built by droves of suburbanites who migrated in hordes through the good time years (80's thru 90's) and turned once rural farmland and woodlands into a mirror image of what they left ...more suburbia. I live in NE PA on land my family settled on in the mid 1700's. I ain't leaving....they are (the NYC and NJ imports) due to the downturn. New schools were built and now sit idle (one area high school is only 5 years old). With the new gas tax, probably more will leave. Is my standard of living more expensive staying here? Hell yeah. But the area is still the #1 mecca for Benchrest activities, I'm am in proximity to more registered matches than anywhere else in the country, and most important to me , it's been my families homestead for over 260 years.

Vote truly conservative, vote Libertarian. Rand Paul 2016! ;D
I think Rand Paul and his views sparks interest to many in both parties. I would trust him not to get us in another war on false pretenses that cost thousands of American lives let alone the trillion dollar plus cost that and other Wall Street policies that contributed to the near collapse of the economy. It's taken over 6 years to slowly start crawling out of the hole we were put in....Ray

Biggest hole dug was caused by politicians on a particular side of the aisle that passed legislation requiring banks to approve home mortgages for individuals that did not have the financial means to repay those loans.

+1 Don't blame Wall Street, Frank in the House and Todd in the Senate both Chairman of the Finance com. get the CREDIT!!!!!!

Actually, it goes all the way back to the mid 70's with Carter's, "Community Re-investment Act". That was the beginning - then the sub-prime loans with no down payments to "NJAs" (No Job or Assets"), and it got so bad that you could buy a house with no job, no assets and walk away from the closing with $20,000 to $30,000 in your pocket as starter money.

When Clinton wanted to investigate Fanny and Freddy, Franks and Dodd killed the bill - when Bush 43 wanted to investigate, Frank and Dodd killed the bill in sub-committee.

Then the roof fell in.

But they are now doing the same think all over - Fanny and Freddy are doing sub-prime loans and it goes down hill from there.

Master...

I can appreciate the hyperbole and your desire to have everyone who is stuck in a bad situation stay there to fix it. Guess you have never been out-matched, outnumbered and overwhelmed by reality, I get it. But some folks just want to leave the lousy situation they find themselves in, of no making of their own, and they voice that desire. Don't worry, I do not plan to move next to you and build a McMansion. However, if you lived nearby I would let you use my range...

In the mean time, i will keep fruitlessly voting conservative, raising heck in my sphere of influence, paying too much for everything, wasting my life here...No wait a minute...i am gonna move and i am going to like it.

No Offense to my Yankee friends here, but to you southern and Midwest people you need to treat this long war on our freedoms as a cancer, don't be nice to the transplants, they will come in droves, just like they did in bucks county and many other places. This needs to be approached the same way as you would approach a cancer. Watch the South Park episode with the aliens showing up, that's what you get when you are niced.

AFTER THINKING THIS THROUGH A BIT I DO HAVE TO SAY I FEEL FOR MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY UP THERE AS WELL AS THE GREAT PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM, I AM JUST PASSING ON MY EXPERIENCE OVER THE PAST 33 YEARS LIVING OUTSIDE THE NORTHEAST. I DONT THINK QUITTING THE FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS AND FLEEING IS THE ANSWER, IT JUST MAKES IT EASIER ON THOSE THAT OPPOSE WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN.

Master..

I have the solution. Since you have all the energy and I am pooped out from the fight, lets switch. You do the next 33 here and I will fill your spot. Or maybe you could just move here and vote. that is it! Let's get all the guys who still enjoy their rights freely to move east and enjoy changing things back!

Not much better here in NC. I live 20 mile from Fayetnam and the urban sprall is already at my doorsteps. The productive people in the city have let their government homes deteriorate to unlivable conditions so they rip the AC units out sell for scrap and move into a new built home and start the process all over. Those hoods are not hard to spot, just look for the blue Harbor Freight roof repair tarps. Nobody needs to feel left out because they're coming to a neighborhood near you. Already getting complaints about my 50 yr old private range from the migrants and a shooting partner had his 30 yr private range shutdown because of development. Just different type of gun control.

Amazing you move next to a shooting range then complain about noise? They must be a special kind of retard.

People You have to be politically correct its a special kind of STUPID. The way I figure it if everyone moves out of NEW YORK, I can shoot any place I want. May be it will just me and the Governor left.

As Dr Michael Savage coined the phrase" Liberlism is a mental disorder" The sad part is when they are wrong they cant admit it and wont. There train of thought is so weird that they have become the sheeple that are taking over the world with their ridiculous idealology.

I was born and raised in NY. You either stay and continue voting to change things, remain there and deal with it, or move out. Realizing I couldn't change the opinions of the majority, I moved out!

Like the song says, "You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run". It's long past time to run from NY, NJ, CA, MD and the rest of the anti-constitution states. :'(

Liberals tend to be activists and run for the PTA, city councillor, judge, or mayor, or state rep or some other civil service or public job in great numbers and for the long term while conservatives are more busy in day to day private lives to make ends meet in their jobs or business and have little time or energy for public service.

I think you are mistaken...

Liberals tend too want to control everyone else, and to that end, they do all the stuff you listed to allow them to control everyone that believes differently.

Steve,Catshooter, it's more a combination of the two. Lot's of spare time, the need to direct other peoples lives at other peoples expense. Look at Hillary she had a job handed it off to Monica and went back to telling other people what to do.
