Pentax Lightseeker 6-24x reticle question

I am looking to buy my first long range scope. Already have old Pentax Lightseeker 3.5-10x50 and I am very happy with glass and mechanics. So I thought to buy another one in 6-24 mag, 30mm tube that someone selling new for $400 on ebay. However, it has fine plex reticle. I wonder how usable it can be for long range applications. Pentax website lists two reticle choices for this model: mil dot and ballistic plex. This one could be old stock? Thank you

in my opinion the fine plex would be the best of the three choices for long range work covering less of the target. i own a bal-plex and it is very thick. just my opinion. good luck with your choice.

Figure out just where the point of the thick part of the Fine PLex reticule shoots to at a distance and go from there.... As stated the BPlex is pretty thick out a ways....
