pelican 1770??

Does anyone know if the pelican 1770 is too big for air transport ie special baggage ANDcan u fit two full size f class rifles with nightforce BR scopes in one?

They will fit two 32" F-Open rifles side-by-side, with the scopes removed. Otherwise, I don't know how to fit two. I also don't know about current airline baggage requirements.

They are darn big cases, but two F Open's without scopes is good to go on one level.
One option that can be used is one gun is under and one over with scopes fitted, there is so much foam and thickness you make two layers, its a bit fiddly but it works.
Or one stock and two barreled actions with scopes.
But they are big and heavy even when empty, I put the 1770 in the Toyota Ute and then put the guns in if I'm on my own in a morning, or it's two guys to move them when they have 2 x 10kg F Opens in them, Awesome case though.

Filp me a pm with email and I can send you some photos of both ways, over and under and barreled actions.

I've got one which houses my Savage 12 F/TR on the top level, my AR-15 on the bottom level and my Celestron 100F-ED that straddles both levels. According to Pelican's website it's 54.58" x 15.58" x 8.63".

I know with Alaska Airlines the max dimension is 62 linear inches and 50lbs. I haven't tried transporting mine yet via the airlines, but I'd imagine a quick call to your preferred airline or to their website and you'd be good.
