Pelican 1750 case fit into Camaro SS?

Plan to attend F Class Nationals at Ben Avery this year.
Have booked a hire car Camaro SS current model from Avis - combine a bit of a road trip!

I believe the rear seats fold down?

Will I fit a Pelican 1750 case into this car OK?

Why not go to your local Chevy dealer and measure one. The Pelican will not fit cross wise in any of my cars, but will in the ones where one of the back seats fold to give greater access from the trunk or in one case the cargo area. If I travel to a shoot (Skeet only at the moment) and need to rent a car, I rent and SUV only be cause then a have room not only for guns and cases, but also for cleaning etc.

Think you'll find that Chevvy isn't a brand that figures much in Australia.

If you don't plan to have a passenger, you can recline the back on the passenger seat and have it right next to you 8) The back seat has a latch on the top center to allow it to fold down. I'm not certain you have the width to accommodate the case.

And I will have a passenger with other luggage , ok ?

So, I can't go to my local Chevy dealer and measure it!
I am in Australia - the car doesn't exist here.

You're going to have a hell of a time with a gun case going in the back OR through the passenger door. Add in luggage and a passenger? That's a real stretch. Google Camaro trunk images or go here. When I rent with gun cases, it's always a full or mid size SUV. At any rate, enjoy your trip.

I have one of those cases on order. If it comes soon, I will stop at the local Chevy dealer and try it. Sorry, I did not realize you were down under.

I took a box with the dimensions shown for the 1750 case and tried it in a Camaro and could not get it to fit and still have the windows closed. Certainly will not fit in the trunk or crossways.

I am embarrassed to say I did not try folding down the back seat and going in from the trunk then. I think I can try this again tomorrow though and will see what comes of it.

I have googled the car and the only photo I could find showed that only a small section in the middle folds on the SS?
I may have to look at a smaller case?
If you see this in time could you advise the width available across the back seat with doors closed?
I cant find that dimension anywhere - only shoulder room.

Apologies for this post but couldnt think of anywhere else to go but ask other shooters over there?

I will be over in New Jersey today stopping in to see Bob White at Shooters Corner and I pass a Chevy dealer on the way. Should have an SS in the lot.

Since you're coming from overseas, I totally understand that you may be wanting to rent the Camaro for the full American road trip experience, but I generally rent a minivan when taking long road trips, and plan to do so for FCNC. Took my mid-size SUV to the Worlds in 2013 and though everything fit it was tight with one passenger. The minivan is much more spacious.

My Prius gets over 50 miles per gallon and when either back seat is folded down, there is plenty of room from the trunk forward to put the longest case. Rather spend the money on loading supplies then gas!

our old 2011 ss did the rear seats folded down had to get something bigger when my wife and son decided to shoot also up until then i had 2 hard cases gear and a passenger but it was packed to the gills could'nt see out the back window at all with luggage dont think it will work
