pds near Miami, ok?

funny funny , Matt, you must be from NYC,

out here they are cops, buddies, and the law.

but for you edification the PD is an animal of great desire to the PETA folks

not me except for accuracy training

Bob

do they have nutrias down that way? I hear all they are good for is target practice, although as big as they are, it wouldn't be much challenge. Maybe you could try shooting some of those pythons slithering around the everglades

Funny you bring this up I was talking to an older gentleman yesterday that was saying someone had "transplanted" some here...He said there was a mound of them in Skiatook. He travels to Wyoming and Montana to shoot Prairie Dogs so I am sure he knows what hes talking about. They are for sale as pets all over here. People pay 150.00 to 200.00 a piece for them no kidding. Maybe someone also let some pets loose. My friend has two of them and hurts like hell when they bite, I thought they were cute and cuddly until it chomped on my booger picker like a pitbull.

I'm right at about 15 miles from miami, and I've never heard of any in the 15 years I've been here. We've got deer, hogs, turkey, and coyotes but sorry no Prarie dogs.

Fredhorace77,

it seems from the post above there are folks who don't know their geography very well, should we help them?

naw, they can live in Miami, Fl if they want to but lets keep Miami, OK a secret.

thanks for the info

Bob

Howdy !

FWIW -
The closest I've seen..... were in a small PD town, right outside the first toll booth into OK; on the drive up from Wichita Falls.

1969 Heisman Trophy winner, Steve Owens, grew up in Miami, OK. Miami may be better known for him than pd's

You've about gotta' get west of I-35, out on the shortgrass prairie, before you start finding prairie dogs. And good 'dog' towns you can shoot on are getting few and far between in the past 20 yrs., or so. You about have to "know somebody", 'cause of the slobs who have no respect for others. Been a long time since I've traveled to/through the panhandle (of Oklahoma), but I've been told there's some good shooting there. I'd start by checking with the chamber of commerce (on-line) in some of the smaller towns, and see where that leads.

I've never seen PD's that far east. I once talked to a gun shop owner in Tulsa who swore he had a secret dog town in the south Tulsa region. Did some scouting several years ago in Oklahoma and definitely the poodles get thicker the further west you travel. Last I heard, however, the plague had wiped out a large percentage of the population.

Their relative up here in Connecticut is called a woodchuck. They love golf courses,do have many of those in Fla? P.S.Remember "Caddyshack". Tom

Seems like any PD's in Miami/Picher area would have been dead from lead poisoning, the OTHER kind of lead poisoning, a LONG time ago ;)
