...no one likes a Hippocrate

Is a Hippocrate a big box you ship your hippopotamus in?

Here's another view, OP gets his automated email from PP telling him the charge is over a limit.
The NEXT DAY they overturn their decision and process the funds. Problem avoided, right? Nope.

If OP stops right here and checks with PayPal before sending a personal check, problem avoided. If OP checks his bank balance, problem avoided.

It's not a perfect world. There are Bad People (in this case, not PayPal) out there who do this as a business. Gotta take control, look after your business and cover all the angles.......good luck.
Killshot,
Are you the forum spelling police? I always use spell check but apparently choose the wrong one,...
EXCUSE ME Please don't send me a ticket!! WHY!!!Would the op check with his account when PP already TOLD HIM!! he had over exceeded his limit and they WOULD NOT!! COVER IT!! that's ridiculous!! Do you have stock in PP?? Geeez!

It has been my understanding that PayPal does give to anti-gun orgs like the Brady group and the sort.. It is why I have never used them.. kinda like why don't use Ebay either..

FroggyOne2,
Absolutely not in any way shape or form, I was agreeing with you 100% Killshot just didn't like the way I spelled HYPOCRITE, I have sent you a p.m explaining. I probably over reacted anyway but I do my best to make legible posts, as a matter of a fact I go way out of my way to make sure I am using the correct terminology and spelling but when using spell check as you probably know they give multiple options and I choose the wrong one, I felt he was going out of his way to point it out and pick on me for it and I have ZERO patience for that, a little lack of sleep I blew up and spouted off with my fingers on the key board, Killshot was probably just goofing around and I took it the wrong way, I apologize to all.
Wayne.

So noted kind sir, i guess that i just read it the wrong way.. i guess i can get a lil froggy at times.. or foggy too. I have to remember to watch what i say sometimes.. fore i read these post some of these post at 3 am when i get up.. still not totally awake, first cup of coffee not having taken effect yet.. still stumbling about the house trying to get myself in order to be ready for another day in the big house!

Letters from lawyers rarely excite unscrupulous sellers. Gather up all your paperwork and go to your local police department. You will be pleased to find that they are well versed in these kinds of crimes.

Our company went after two cases in the past 10 years. When the 'blue suit' shows up on their doorstep you'll get your money back fairly quickly. A criminal complaint has more teeth than a civil action. Good luck to you.

Have no doubt Paypal will make their end right but surely would like to know who the dead beat is who stole your money. No use any more of us being duped by them!

I heard back from PayPal and PayPal said they were not going to rectify their mistake but they would note the discrepency in the seller's history???? My complaint was with PayPal in this case, not the seller. That's another matter. I am supposed to hear back from the credit card company today so we will see what happens there. Next stop is an attorney for advice if the credit card company is unable to help me. It is a matter of principal now. I am wondering if this is a problem where the Montana State's Attorney might be able to help me? This was not a business related to shooting in any way but a person requiring payment through PayPal to perform his services.

I'm confused. Paypal put the first payment against your credit card, and you haven't gotten that back yet? AND you're out the check $$? I'd be finding somebody to curb stomp in short order. Was this a firearm related purchase via this site? It sounds like some sort of Paypal fraud is going down.

If you paid the check by mail you might contact the USPS, they might be able to help you with Federal fraud charges against the individual. They may be able to help you with state/local authorities where the individual received and cashed payment. I've heard Ciener was charged recently for taking money and not delivering goods.

Definitely check with the MT Attorney General's office as well.

I had problems with PayPal and EBay some years ago and have avoided them since. In two cases someone either shipped the wrong/erroneously described goods or there was damage when something arrived AND it's condition description was erroneous at best. EBay/PayPal sided with me in the one case, and I shipped it back and received a refund but NOT my freight paid to and from. In the other case I would have won but the freight was more than the initial auction price. This jerk gave ME bad feedback as retaliation for accurately describing 3 screwups out of 4 auctions via the feedback system.

Initially I was wary of the whole thing when my bank branch manager told me horror stories of people's regular checking accounts being frozen for months over $25 transactions where the buyer used a stolen credit card--through PayPal. There were lawsuits in some cases and they corrected their policies. Still, after I set up a separate account in a different bank, the EBay/PayPal system worked well for me for several years, just the two clearly dishonest sellers that gamed the system.

I remember something about when you sign up with PayPal you agree to waive your standard credit card rights, your agreement with them is final. There was some talk years ago about Congress not allowing them to do this anymore, couldn't tell you how that turned out. State laws may vary as well.

If you want to grow tired of reading about PayPal problems, just put "PaPal customer problems" in your search bar. You will learn in short order, that if you deal w/this business at some point in time, the odds are, you will also be a victim. Why support any organization thats anti-gun???Larry in western Ky.
