Well guys, what 30 caliber cartridge shouldit become?

Ten twist, dependent on the recipient and his needs, and skills, I'd go with a .308 Win or 300 Win Mag.

What are your thoughts on what type of gun your going to make hunting or benchrest?

Has to be a Hunting Rifle. I have a Certificate for a Manners stock.
With store bought ammo, maybe a .308. I found that they make reduced recoil ammo.

Have you finalized what is going to be done with the rifle? I think that will play a huge role in deciding what it will become. A giveaway rifle and one being auctioned off to the site's benefit would take different directions in my opinion

Let's take one more try at a raffle. Some have stated that they can be done easily in their state. If your State permits this please contact me.

Raffling off the rifle makes the most sense to me. It will bring more money for the Accurate Shooter Site.

Terry. A thought just popped into my mind. An alternative to having a raffle would be to have a contribution "drive". For example; from now until whatever ending date for every $25 donated to the site an entry into a drawing is earned. New silver sign ups get an entry, golds get two, and existing members get one for each $25 donated.

I believe the benefits to this are threefold:

1. No money needs to be handled externally by anyone who doesn't already do this for the site. All that's needed is to know who donated and how much. Boss could even do a drawing himself (if he's willing and able) to avoid any questions of propriety.

2. You're no longer raffling off a prize. Contributors are signing up for the site and the benefits that have always come with it. The rifle is auxillary to that.

3. More membership sign-ups! I think the potential is greater going this route being that people who contribute are getting something no matter what.
