Paul Jaeger Bbl quality?

I have a Paul jaeger barrel. I have no idea about anything of him and or his barrels. Is this a good barrel to build? It’s a 7MM mag

Dman, I didn't know that he made barrels. I know that there was a Paul Jaeger the did gunsmith work and engraving. I have friend that has a Winchester 21 sheet that was engraved and gold inlaid by him. Very nice work indeed.

I have a friend who was well acquainted with Paul Jaeger. He had several rifle built for him by Paul He said Jaeger never made barrels but sometimes put his names on the barrels of rifles he built. He says you have gotten a barrel that was separated at some point from a Jaeger built rifle. Hope this helps.

No jaeger for me.
The 7mm Remington Magnum rifle cartridge is vintage 1962, earlier may be a wildcat?
In the 70s, his company put a Douglas barrel on my 1965 M70. Paul Jaeger seemed to be retired. On my return trip, he was still hanging out drinking coffee , eating donuts, while his head gunsmith "beat" on the new floor plate he just installed, while rifle rested on my 6x18 Redfield scope.
Kids out back did most of the work that came out of Jenkintown PA. Like the bad glass bed job that was done with the new barrel.

I guess this isn't really pertinent because I was only 17 (48 years ago). But my Dad allowed me to buy guns and shoot, and life was good. I bought a Paul Jaeger in 22-250. It looked beautiful to me - Mauser action, varmint barrel and had a 6x18 Redfield on it. All I know is I could hit a plastic spoon with regularity at 100 yds. But back then about all I knew was: put the shells in the top, work the bolt handle, and pull the trigger.

Somewhere along the line I sold it.
