PATCH TRAP

I am looking for a patch trap for cleaning my 6BR Competition rifle. I have an Ezell tuner on it which has a diameter of about 1 5/8 inch. The trap would need to fit over this.

Any suggestions.

This is what I did.
So I saw the pic of that green thang and got to looking around the mancave to see if I could find something that would suffice for a copy cat. Lo and behold up on a shelf I spotted a small empty Lapua brass box. The bell rang in that one brain cell and wah lah. Got out the 1 1/4 " hole saw, stuck it in my cordless, popped a hole in the end of the box and trimmed the top edges for a straight line to the top and now I have a patch catcher for free.

necessity (or an inquisitive mind) is the mother of invention

That's using your noggin' there Bill. I'm adding your idea to my list of possible replacement options for my many years old Muzzle-Mate patch catcher. Thanks for posting your idea as I've got a few of those nice Lapua boxes in the gun room. Yankee ingenuity....gotta' love it!

Another opton is the plastic water bottle method that replaces the old warped and discolored plastic tube on the old MMate but retains the barrel clip for retention.

MuzzleMate prior to 'getting old'. This was the best opton ever until being discontinued for some unknown reason.

These work really well…
The enclosed patch catchers eliminate the aerosol spray from solvent-soaked brushes exiting the muzzle end and prevents the spray from getting on scope lens, stinking up the house, and breathing it wherever you're cleaning.

It's not just about wet patches, but that nasty solvent aerosol spray.

3.50 at Menards. Soft silicone rubber no scratches.
