PAST recoil shoulder pad?

Looking to tame the recoil on 2 bench guns I have. Anyone ever use these pads? Did they help at all? Any other suggestions to reduce recoil? They aren't comp guns so anything is fine. I need shoulder surgery/bicep tendonesis, but I'm putting it off as long as I can.

The best system I've used and sold were air stocks. Mostly in 12ga shotguns but after the install all said it felt like a 410 bore shooting. G-Squared was one and it did work, don't know if that's in your plan but alot of shotgun shooters praise the unit. Works on air pressue so no recovery time on second shot. I believe Mike still owns the company but even high powered rifle shooters have used the system, just my two cents, best to you.

My brother in law uses one and he likes it. We also give him crap about wearing one and call it his sissy pad. If I were shooting his gun I would probably use one to.

Just looked up the G-squared. That looks sweet! Think the guy is charging like $850 a pop though. Got me thinking about a RAD system though.

I have used the slip-on recoil pads on rifles to improve the comfort.
Cheap versions on Amazon readily available

I bought one years ago for my son to use on a muzzleloader for deer when he was 10 or 11. It worked really well.

Yes,they do there job.I used one for a couple years. I can shoot 6ppc all day.After bicep/shoulder surgery I am very recoil sensitive.

I have one and use it for larger centerfires in T shirt weather. Works great.

They work great. If ya wanna get fancy, sew the pad into a dedicated shirt. They're a little hassle taking on and off.

That actually sounds like a cool idea! I've got a couple of heavy, think tshirts that would be perfect. Now just curious what past to get. Looks like they have regular, magnum and super magnum.

I have the magnum version and use it when shooting my unbraked 30/378 Weatherby. Helps quite a bit.

Just an FYI, a recoil pad only transfers the recoil, it doesn't absorb it, be it a gel or Kick-Ezz style pad. If you want to reduce felt recoil it you need to use a system that does exactly that, absorb's recoil. Alot of people use the ISIS style system, and others, to DAMPEN the recoil, you still absorb it in your sholder/body. I've seen styles in my years in the trade, there's a big difference in absoring and transfering felt recoil. My 2cents.

If there are no limits just make the gun heavy and brake it. My 6 creed is too heavy for my kitchen scale, but i think it is over 25lbs. It also has a brake. Recoil is similar to a very heavy 22lr, no joke. Bring your ear protection though!

that awesome! My barrel is a 1.25 straight. I'm thinking of putting a brake on it, but not sure who even makes that diameter, other than harrels.

Yes, the PAST pads work well. I got one because shooting full house lake city match duplicate loads prone in a tee shirt out of an 03-A3 was less than fun. I did wear it under the shirt, of course.
