I shoot matches at Pascagoula and I highly recommend you attend if you're visiting the area. The F-Class matches are held on the fourth Saturday of the month and the Bench Rest match is the next day (which may or may not be the 4th Sunday, depending on the calendar). They always shoot 600 yards and the club just added a couple more targets. Work is still underway on the 1000 yard targets, so depending on the progress there may or may not be an opportunity to shoot at 1000 yards. I usually show up about 8:00 a.m., shooting begins at 9:00 and the F-Class match generally finishes up around 1:00 p.m. depending on the number of shooters. Bench Rest is similar except that it takes a little less time so we're usually finished up before noon.
The atmosphere is very low key and casual; however, Mike and Dave run the matches in a very professional way and their range safety procedures are second to none. In other words, you are very unlikely to get shot but you're almost guaranteed to have a good time.
There are mosquitoes, but they're usually not too bad. I think I put on repellent only once in the past year. However, the pits are ungodly hot in the Summertime, so bring plenty of cold drinks and a good hat. I always bring a dry shirt for the drive home. The firing line is concrete with an overhead roof.
For F-Class we shoot three strings of 20 rounds, so you'll need 60 rounds plus sighters. I usually load 80. The entry fee for first timers is zero, so that's hard to beat. If you come back the next day for BR, you'll need 20 rounds plus sighters. We shoot four targets, 5 rounds each plus sighters. If you're a sling shooter, you'll be accommodated too, assuming you don't drown in your own sweat once you put on that heavy shooting jacket.

Bring an empty chamber indicator.
The range is at 5800 Bayou Heron Road, a place your GPS may or may not know. You will wind around in the boondocks a while to get there. Once you pass the Research Center on your right, the road curves to the left and the range entry gate is about 1/3 mile further on on your left.
