I like it the way it is !!! Nice rifle.. super accurate !!!
Guess not everyone is a “ wood” collector.. & they like to use what they get..???
I wouldn’t want checkering on mine..to get dented/broke.. I would plan to use it as intended !!
Not set in a safe or on a wall behind glass all light up..

Some of mine came with checkered grips and I decided that I liked the feel of that so had Preacher checker the rest, 2 at a time. I don't think that the grip checkering detracts from the rifles and probably actually enhances the appearance over all. I think Cooper had the right idea in that respect.
