Parent case for 6XC ?

I think the question says it all. If I want to get a 6xc chambered barrel...how would I make the brass.

Thanx

Mark Schronce first used Winchester 22-250, and now he is using the new Nosler 22-250. He says the Nosler looks really good and doesn't need as much prep.

Alan Warner makes 6XC cases out of Lapua .243 brass but he says "it's a heck of a lot of work."

The other option is to contact RUAG and go with a 6x47 Swiss Match. From what we hear there's a 1000-case minimum and expect to pay about $0.80/piece delivered. The cartridge is slightly smaller than the 6XC but should deliver very similar performance.

You may want to look into a Dasher or 6BRX if you want more performance, than a standard 6BR) but want to use 6BR brass. Scott Parker and Mark Schronce have both had great luck with the 6BRX.

There is still a lot of the Remington Basic BR brass out there. It makes an excellent 6XC with a small primer pocket but it is a lot of work. Also, I have seen original 6XC brass for sale by disenchanted shooters and of course there is always David Tubb.

Chief - Shouldn't we be calling that new cartridge the 6x47 Swiss or some such so as not to confuse a new shooter who may run out and buy a bunch of the old original 6x47?

Hey Guys. Norma 22-250 brass for starters. Run it throug Tubbs FL die and away you go. No Mess, no problems. Just do it.
No Fire Forming, just load it with 35.0 gr Varget and a Sierra 70 HPBT and go shoot 200 SF and RF. Stuff in 34.0 gr behind an 85 Sie HPBT and run 300. 39.0 of IMR 4350 and a 107 and you are good to go for 600. Jesus Folks, this ain't Rocket Science!
@#$%^ folks want to disect everthing when it is laied out in plany view..... This FLAT WORKS.

Hi as above the Parent case for the 6mmXC is a 22-250 and any 22-250 case can be necked up and shoulder pushed back to make a case to fireform. If you dont want to make cases use david tubb's i think if you dont over load the cases they should work fine.

I think the major problem we face is people load until the case blows a primer then back off .2gr and call it safe poeple are truing to make 6mmBR's into 243's it CANT be done safely. if you have a 2 cases and use the SAME PRESSURE LOADS in the same length BARRELS the larger case will always win. The XC is a good compromise.
