Parallax Reduction

I have been told that I can increase eye relief while aiming thru my scope until I get the dark ring in the field of view and then center things up and that will reduce parallax. Can anyone verify this?.

What the technique you describe does is it gives you a visible indication of when the reticle is centered. It does not affect parallax perse but rather centers the image so that parallax is not an issue if you can repeat the process each time. It does however mean there's one more item in the checklist for making the shot and the more complex the list the more difficult to get it all correct each time which increases fatigue.
