parallax adjustment Weaver T-series

Does any have one of the old T-series scopes, the ones with 10 turns of adjustment? I do not have an instruction manuel, and the way I do it is turn all the way thru, and note what numbers are best. And then back up to them, and fine tune if I don't find another spot. It seems to me there must be an easier way to do it, as far as getting in the ballpark right away. I would think the numbers mean something other than just referance. Thanks

I never set parallax on any scope by the manufacturer's markings on the AO. Even high end scopes can be off. You need to set parallax for each distance, at the range. When there is no apparent movement, I like to mark that spot on the adjustment ring with a small piece of white adhesive tape, then ball point pen the correct distance, so that it is easy to return. Some of the old T Weavers were impossible to fine tune out parallax at some distances.

The best way is to set at the range at whatever yardage you are
shooting and note it on a range card.the parallax settings are
very fine on these scopes.some of the first ones had some of the very best glass you could get.the adjustments are 1/4" for W&L
l have a 16x you can see bullet holes better than with a Leo.
6 1/2 to 20.they just take getting use to..use it a year you
will love it..

Guys, read his description carefully. These old scopes don't have yardage numbers on them... they are numbered like a micrometer... 0-9 around the bell, and then a scale 0-10 on the tube. Oops, guess Jon has one. Anwho...

I don't know of a 'good' way to get these dialed in myself... so I'm all ears if someone else does. I get tired of crankin' and crankin' on them myself.

According to the manual 3 is for 100yds on the 10X so cannot say if others were calibrated the same. Have had 7 of the 10's but only 1 6X and 1 16X.

Setting at 3 has been almost perfect at 100yd for all I have had. Turning them out,4)is for closer ranges and in,towards 2 etc) for farther distances. Usually I end up about 4.5 to 5 for 25yds. Don't shoot them there much only for first sighters so just get it to where I see the bull fairly good.

All around probably my all time favorite for scopes. Down to 3 now,2 dots and a duplex). Had some fairly beat up with obj. cloudy but still clear when you looked through it. If it wasn't for the piss poor objective adjustment they would make and excellent tactical scope. Sure put the likes of the Super Sniper down the optic ladder for there cost/quality.
