Panda Fclass vs Bat M

I also have one of each in Dasher. Both are good. I like the Kelbly Panda better. Just seems easier to use and doesn't scare me with that lug gaulding issue.

Local shooter has warned and warned me about keeping the lugs lubed on the BAT. I do and think it's a PIA. Never really shot the Panda much and never lubed it. Now I will when I resume shooting that one. Just keep hearing how much trouble the BAT is if the lugs get dry. Not sure that's correct but it's a strong rumor.

If I were to get rid of one, which is very possible, the BAT would be the first to go. There are other issues also, the BAT is a bear to remove the bolt from the firing pin. Think there's a tool but I don't have one. The Panda uses the simple Remington tool.

I think you had better start using bolt grease on the Panda……. it even comes with it …… as far as the Bat you don't need a tool and it sure ain't a bear to take apart. You don't grease the lugs on both you are making junk out of a good actions …….. jim

I have a Borden rimrock, BAT MB, and kelbly atlas. Yes I know it's not a panda. Like them all but the Borden and BAT are my favorite.

Both actions have stainless bolts on stainless lugs- why would you not grease a panda? Like jim said they even come with grease! When you blank a primer on the line it sure is nice taking a bat bolt apart. Thats the main difference besides the obvious construction material.

Don't want to side-track the OP's topic. Thanks for the info. I did not know and never greased the lugs on anything other than incidental oil residue wiped off during cleaning.

My hands are not strong enough to reliably take the BAT bolt apart. I have but it's a long, protracted struggle.

Now I know.

If you get one of those rubber sheets designed to take off pickle jar lids itll help a bunch cap'n. I bet you can rob one out of the potholder drawer at home

Unless they have changed recently, all BAT actions have a 4140 CM bolt body to help minimize galling. This helps but doesn't eliminate the galling. Use plenty of grease

I have gotten in a few kelbly actions that weren't the same measurement as ones Ive gotten before. Off by .003-.004. Most have been identical but a few were off. This is why I have every action in hand when I chamber it.
