Panda FClass Lube

hey guys, new to custom rifles and since I spent more on the bare action than I did my previous FTR rifle complete, I want to take care of it.
Other than the typical back of the bolt lugs and firing pin cam, anything else in particular since its most AL? Any preferred grease and/or oil?

Thanks!
Jrod

I use Lubriplate on the rails, and Brian Enos's Slide-Glide on the lugs and other bolt surfaces. I clean it all off as part of my cleaning regimen after a range session, and re-apply.

Thanks for the link Killick, I may try some.

Terry, what viscosity of slide glide do you use?

Thanks guys!

why dont you call Kelblys ???.,,,,,they will tell you exactly what you need to know,,rather than use what ever salve that you can buy on the internet,,,,they prolly will send you a syringe full of the rite stuff cheaper that you can buy some snake oil off of Amazon,,,,,,,Roger

I use mil-comm tb-25 grease. It is a ptfe based grease with a thin viscosity. It will not make the bolt sticky. Any ep grease will do the job on lugs, but if it gets on the bolt body it will make the bolt sticky. What you want is something with an EP additive ie. moly, ptfe.

J-rod,

I use the green grease on the locking lugs that Kelbly's sent along with my action. In addition to that, I sparingly apply Pro-Shot Zero Friction oil to the bolt body. I apply both of these immediately before taking the gun to the line for a relay.

No scrapes, gouges, galling or hang-ups (unless if I toss the round into the loading port incorrectly!) and I can run the thing like a machine gun.

Best of luck with yours!

Thank you guys for the responses.

I didn't get any grease with my action so I've just been using Tetra.
Too much and I get a silky smooth action but with the risk of transferring it to my rounds, I don't shoot it like that.
Not enough and I get a sticky bolt just cycling it...and of course the last thing I want is galling or premature wear.

I will experiment with the above advice, thanks again.

Haha, Jerry I just saw the last part of your post, I'm guilty of that too lol.

Thanks for the good luck and likewise with yours.

I use Slip 2000 Extreme Weapons Grease (EGW). It has a higher flash point of most of the different greases on the market. I think it holds up longer in an action where hot rounds are used. Most of them burn hot right?

J-rod,
The grease that Kelbly's sends with their actions is Pro-long ep2. You can find it at most NAPA stores or order it on line.
I hope this helps,

Lloyd
