Panda F-Class Action Depth?

Hey folks!

I'm building a LR stock for a good friend who just purchased a Kelbly F-Class action. Any suggestions for the inletting depth of this action? I was thinking half the distance of the vertical sides. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers BB

As a general rule of thumb the action is sunk just shy of its mid point. The bolt release is in the center of the race way in most actions. So you dont want to have the center of the bolt stop below the stock line. In a perfect world the stock line would be just below the center line of the bolt stop/raceway. If the trigger is too high or low, you can move the inlet forwards to raise the action, and rearward to lower it (for a square tang action and stock). Every action tang and trigger position is a little different so actions do end up with slightly different heights in the stock to get the trigger right. Do all your measuring first. This is why I have never supplied stocks with a rear screw holes pre drilled. Thats not how you position an action.

Thanks everyone for your input. I got it drawn out but I need the trigger guard to assure the trigger is in proper position. For this custom stock the shooter has a specific LoP and grip to trigger distance so I have not much to work with. I don't want to cut slope rear of the tang until I know that the forward/aft position of the action is perfect. Right now I have it so the bottom of the bolt release is at the stock line. The ports will need to be routed down about 1/8".
