Panda bolt repair

My friend has a RR panda bolt with a .473 bolt face with a sliding extractor for both ppc and br cases. He is having problems with the sliding extractor not sliding over the ppc case and thus not allowing the bolt to close. We have replaced the sliding extractor,spring and cone (parts from kelbly) and continue to have frequent issues. Looking for someone who can fix this.

On one of my Pandas with that issue, I cracked the barrel loose, shimmed it forward with a .004 feeler gauge and retightened the barrel. No issues, then. The problem wasn't fixed but it was a diagnosis.

Stan Ware was kind enough to look at it, even though he hadn't done the barrel (it was an extra that came with the gun). As it turned out, the cone cut on the back of the barrel was off a bit which also contributed to the issue.

Stan to the rescue. Again!!! -Al

P.S. lead core squirts work great for checking bolt nose clearance.

My friend called Kelbly on monday to get some support on the problem he was having. And sure enough they have seen that issue and knew what was needed. He removed alittle material off of the underside of the sliding extractor where it snaps over and grabs the cartridge rim. Removed the firing pin and tested 50 rounds and all went smooth. Thank you Al for your insite and sharing your experience, and thanks to Kelblys for their great knowledge and support.
