Palo Alto Upgrades 600 Firing Line

The good news: that is the absolute nicest firing line I (or probably anyone else) has ever seen...well done!!!

The bad news: required match apparel for shooters at Palo Alto will now be:

Rick...did you have the grass cut JUST for that photo?

I wish I could make the next F-class match but the general demands my presence elsewhere that weekend:rolleyes:. I will be there for the FPR match though. Can't wait to try it out. How's the air conditioning in the pits coming along?:D

Robin-
The air conditioning is in next year's budget.....we have to get the couches in the pits first.

That is nice. Is it a mat that is rolled out on a prepared base of some sort? Got a link to the suppliers website you could post?
Thanks.

I don't have a website, but it was done by No-Fault out of Baton Rouge.
It is permanent. It's a 2" thick rubberized product installed on a 4" base. The 2' gray section in front is a little softer than the mat for bipod and prone shooters. The wide concrete area in front also accommodates those that want to use it for their rest or bipod.
We also painted two yellow stripes 2-1/2' wide farther back the entire length of the line to separate the firing line area from the spectators/equipment area behind it. It also allows for an area of unrestricted movement of the match director up and down the line.
