MID-RANGE/PRONE MATCH REPORT
27 shooters came out to spend the Saturday before Labor Day with us.
We had folks make the drive in from Mississippi, Alabama and Florida to shoot with us and we greatly appreciate you making the trip down or over.
On the F-Open side there 8 today. It was a battle between Jim Suber and David McLain, but Jim finally bested David by 1 X, winning with a 597-33X. David took 1st High Master. Since we only had 2 Master/Master Unclassified today, we combined them with the High Masters. This allows for enough shooters to pay a 2nd High Master. That went to Jerry Boudreaux with a 591-30X.
Shooting her first match today was Natalie Cantrell. Natalie’s husband James shoots with us quite often and Natalie has always accompanied James to the matches. Well, she got the bug and so James sat out today and let her shoot. Her first ever string in competition was a 200-10X! Must have been the coaching James gave her on the ride down (or at least that will be his story). Natalie finished on one point off a High Master score for the day. Congrats to Natalie on a great first outing.
FTR had 11 today and Craig Martin continues his winning ways with a 595-35X. 1st Master was Howie Mahute with a 576-19X. Vaughn McDonald took the Expert class with a very nice 578-18X. Rounding out the group saw Barry Wilbert win the Sharpshooter/Marksman group with 586-12X.
Prone also had 8 shooters. Warren Freeman took the overall win with a 597-33X. In the Master/Master Unclassified/Expert/Marksman group had Robert Bose coming out on top with a 578-17X.
Thanks to all those who helped get targets and flags up and down. Your efforts are often not acknowledged, but never under appreciated.
Next month is the Championship Match, so the next monthly match is November.
