FIRECRACKER 600 JULY Mid-Range Prone/F-Class Match

26 shooters came out to spend the day after the 4th of July to shoot in what is called the “Firecracker 600 Match.†Usually, it’s HOT, but temperatures started out in the low 70’s and was only to the upper 80’s by match end.
The temperatures may have not been very hot, but the shooting was!
The Prone side fielded 5 and saw a shoot out between Warren Freeman and Bill Jenkins with Bill taking the win posting a 593-26X.
Dwayne Vidrine shot a 574-10X to win in the combined Master/Expert class.
The F-Open side had 10 shooters with Jim Suber holding off riding partner David Decareaux by 1 point to take the win with a 597-29X. David shot a 596-31X to take 1st High Master. So, I’m sure it made for an interesting conversation on the ride home.
Rick Smith jumped out in the lead to take the win in the combined Master Unclassified/Expert class with a 587-24X.
The FTR group had 11 shooters of which 8 were High Masters. We figured it would be a dogfight to the end but Jade Delcambre jumped out to an early lead and never let up posting the high score on each of the 3 strings. Jade also shot his first 200, so great shooting Jade! Jade won the day with a very nice 596-30X. John Bishop took 1st High Master with a 591-22X. Because we had more than 7 in the group we were able to award a 2nd place. That went to Tony Arcement who shot a 590-19X.
The combined Sharpshooter/Marksman group was won by Rocky Bezet with a 565-10X. I missed recognizing Rocky at the match and I apologize. I’ll get his medal to him next weekend at the F-Class Championship match. Good shooting, Rocky. It’s good to see you making more matches.
