The Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club is hosting a Palma weekend, October 25-27, 2024.

Friday: practice and two-man team match (Palma Course).

Saturday: Palma Course plus 20 shots at 1000 yards.

Sunday: Palma Course.

All firing is done on the HEXTA electronic target system.

F-T/R and F-Open shooters are of course welcome.

Any rifle shooters are welcome to compete out of competition, but Palma shooters have priority.

Questions? Ask here or contact me by PM.

Hope to see some new faces on the firing line!

This is a great place to shoot. A feature of the target system to have the plot sheet you shot today available online shortly afterward for review.

First, let me say that you guys were AWESOME this weekend.

Awesome how, you might ask… Well, there were a grand total of TWO administrative errors in your data entry ‘stuff’!
While that might not seem like a big deal, it really does make my job easier at the end of the match.
So, THANK YOU!

As usual, a big thanks to Nikki and George for all they do for all of us –it was NICE having a nicely mown lawn, and nicer to have porta-poopers on every yardline.
It is also nice to have Nikki getting the preliminary stat work done so quickly too –thanks to her, you guys have a pretty good idea how you did before you head out the gate :) .

Anyway, it sure was a nice weekend –cool temps, beautiful fall colors, NO rain, and some actual conditions in which to shoot!
A great weekend on the range with friends old and new.

Speaking of new friends, we added two to our list of friends, welcoming Steve Bukowski and Robin Retzloff to the crew. Hope you guys both had fun, and hope to see you again soon.

We had a total of 22 shooters show up for the weekends festivities, which is a pretty decent turnout I think.
Next time, let’s see if we can get over 30 :) .

Anyway onto the results! (all results are attached).
You can always find results on the B-Ville website; https://brpc-de.com/high-power-rifle/

The Hexta results, showing your actual targets can be found here; https://shooting.hexsystems.com.au/club/329

For the Friday team match, we had three teams participate (it WAS a workday after all).
The “Jsquared” (J2) team of Jon Howell and Joe Fogg were the top dogs, firing an 887-38X aggregate for the Palma course –nice shooting guys.
In second was the master class team of “Gifted Amateurs”, firing a nice 879-39X –nice going guys!
In third place was the “Trump ‘em” team of Jim Cronin and Tom Snodgrass firing a 856-31X.

On the F-Open side, to no one’s real surprise was Jack Neith, who fired a nice 1092-69X for the win, including firing ‘clean’ today for all three matches. Well done, Jack!
Master class shooter Herb Egberts took second, shooting a nice 1078-48X, followed by soon to be High Master Mike Eash, who fired a nice 1071-45X.
Mike just got his long-range High Master card in the mail, and it will be effective at the end of the month. Well done, Mike!!

In F-T/R, new to us guy Robin Retzloff fired a nice 1061-34X for the category win. Nicely done! Hope you had enough fun (and challenge) to come visit our range again.

On the sling side, Jon Howell put that new barrel through its paces, firing a 1087-58X for the win. Shooting the ‘Mighty’ .223 Remington. Well done, Jon!
If you don’t know it, Jon is quite the ‘wind whisperer’, seeing things that many/most/none of us do. Someday, when I grow up, I want to see the things he does…
Taking second, was Jerry McDonough, who fired a solid 1082-55X. Jerry, glad to see you able to make it up here more frequently these days!
In third place was Master Class shooter Jason Epperly, who pulled out a nice 1077-48X. Well done, Jason!

Our next match is a two day mid-range weekend, on November 9th and 10th, all at 600 yards. It is also our final match until next season.

Hope to see you in two weeks, and again next year.

Frank
