Palma Brass Question

Has anyone had any problems with ignition with the 308 Palma brass with the small mag primer? What was the weather conditions as far as hot or cold weather?

I have not used any of this brass but one thing to remember is that is was designed for a very specific use. I'm not sure how it will work with slower powders like is used in the 260. I believe this brass was designed around Varget or a powder of similar burn rate and 155 gr bullets.

Im wanting to neck it down to 7mm and make a 7-08 improved to shoot the 162 Amax's.

I've shot them in sub-zero temps. No troubles yet (XBR,4895, 4064, VV140,VV150 all W/standard Primers) but I haven't tried Ball powders in them to date. These were test loads.

The .308 Berger FULLBORE load I developed with 8208 XBR tested very well. When I assembled fifty to validate the load, three were down ~200 fps. I switched from CCI BR4 to 450s and have not had the problem since. ES is typically 12-14 and SD 4-6. All shooting was done in temps around 50°f.

I just recently stumbled upon the Lapua add for this brass. Is the only difference the primer pocket?

My lot (P00503701) holds 56.2 H2O, about .5 more than my lots of standard .308 Lapua brass. Other than that and the small primer pocket, it is the same.

Thanks for all the info guys guess its gonna come down to buying the brass and trying it out at the range in the winter once its built.
